Our Research Tour.
Like you might have noticed we spend the last couple of weeks and month researching for our business and especially our product – our tent and its different components. After we finished the tent prototype it was time to translate our concept into production. We would have never expected that it would consume that much time, energy and money.
But trust us, that´s how it works. Here is a great measurement rule, we learned about in one of our meetings:
The time you spend on the idea equals 1 …
…the time you spend to build the first prototype equals 10 …
…the time you spend to realize the production equals 100.
The – 1 – 10 – 100 – rule.
Or in plain words:
Production is the bitch heavy part.
After a lot of time behind the screens doing lots of online research, spending hours on the phone and writing many many emails, it was finally time to hit the road. It was time to meet our supporters and contacts in person and to sit down together to discuss our chances and the most promising construction concepts and of course to present the prototype. That´s always the best part for Stefan and me. To see the reaction in the peoples faces when we build/blow up our tent is by far the greatest motivation for us. That is the thing that keeps us going.
To see the reaction in the peoples faces when they see the tent is the single thing that keeps us going.
Some of the meetings turned out to be dead end streets some where the first step to a solution but all of them were a great lesson. We learned either more about our product, the right materials or the structures of production.
The whole trip was probably one of the turning points for our projects. In the end we made some promising progress. We will now start with the first tests for the production.
We don´t know where it will lead us to but we are looking forward to the next weeks and the next steps for the development of our first product.
Let´s build a tent.
